Abstract: In August 2025, Russia banned the sale of multiple models of Chinese heavy-duty trucks. Prior to this, Chinese trucks had risen rapidly due to the withdrawal of European and American manufacturers, capturing nearly 62% of Russia’s heavy-duty truck market in 2024. However, they faced issues such as low localization, quality disputes and weak after-sales services. To protect its domestic industry, Russia had previously increased tariffs and tightened certification requirements. Chinese automakers need to respond through localized production, technological upgrading and other measures, as market competition enters a new phase.
